InteractiveSpaces organizes workshop on Aesthetics of Interaction

5-7 January InteractiveSpaces organized a workshop on Aesthetics of Interaction. People from Center for Digtal Aesthetics co-organized the event, which had participants from Chalmers in Gothenburg, School of Textiles in Borås, ITU, and Southern Danish University.

Workshop on Aesthetics of Interaction

Wednesday 5 January

Optional programme Wednesday afternoon (depending on when people can arrive):
Presentation and discussion of project activities with a broader group of people at University of Aarhus. Tour in Lab facilities at University of Aarhus

Evening:
Arrival and getting installed in rooms
(if people have time, we encourage you to join us for a visit at our new art museum Aros http://www.aarhuskunstmuseum.dk/om_aros/ which closes at 10 p.m.)
We will meet at the museum entrance at 8 p.m.
Thursday 6 January
8.30-9.00 Breakfast at Aarhus School of Architecture
9-12 Presentation and discussions
Each participating group has 15 minutes for presenting their work and 30 minutes to raise and chair a discussion on what is currently the most challenging problems for the group in order to proceed their work with aesthetics of interaction

12-13.30 Lunch

13.30-15.00 Discussion of exemplar cases in groups
Each group is asked to bring what in their perspective is an exemplar case of aesthetics of interaction. Presentation and discussion

15.00-15.30 Coffee Break

15.30-16.00 Planning what to look while in search of Aesthetics of interaction in the city.

16.00-18.00 Aesthetics of Interaction in the City: Walk'n Talk'n Capture
Walk in groups:
Find examples of aesthetics of interaction in the city
Identify potentials for aesthetics of interaction in the city (which will be used as starting point for design discussions on Friday)

Friday 7 January

8.30-9.30 Breakfast at Aarhus School of Architecture

9.30 - 10.15 Presentation of findings from yesterday afternoon � examples and potentials of aesthetic interaction

10.30 � 13.00 Design discussion based on selected case of potential for aesthetics of interaction identified Thursday:
- Theoretical understanding of design problem
- Methodological approach to designing
- Example solutions

13.00-14.00 Lunch

14.00-16.00 Wrap-up and discussion of possible contributions to special issue of tochi on aesthetics of interaction
Preparation before workshop
Each group (G�teborg, Eindhoven, Digital �stetics and Pragmatic aesthetics group) should prepare:
� 15 minutes presentation of how each group work with aesthetics of interaction. Identify theme and chair discussion for 30 minutes (Thursday morning)
� Bring exemplar case of aesthetics of interaction and prepare discussion Thursday afternoon
