New Project: Everyday Special New Project: Everyday Special
Assistant Professor, Marianne Graves Petersen, Center for Interactive Spaces, has received an award from Microsoft Research in Cambridge for a research project entitled “Everyday Special: Supporting Playful Experiences in Everyday Life at Home”. The project will produce concepts and a prototype for new types of interactive experiences at home. It will illustrate how embedded sensor technologies can be used to shape playful experiences in the home. Read more on the project page. [more]

Wisdom Well at Møllevangsskolen opened Wisdom Well at Møllevangsskolen opened
Yesterday the first Wisdom Well (Vidensbrønd) was opened as part of the reopening of Møllevangsskolen in Århus after the fire in 2003. The Wisdom Well is an interactive floor which is incorporated in a central place of the school. The Wisdom Well is an interactive working surface and a window towards the outside world. Cooperation and knowledge sharing across geographic distances are established – internal between the different year groups in the school as well as external between other educational institutions, working places and culture institutions. The Wisdom Well is intended to be a central meeting point where students and teachers obtain new learning horizons by communicating across the digital interactive water on the floor. [more]

PhD-students visit Carnegie Mellon University PhD-students visit Carnegie Mellon University
From the 4th of May and for a month PhD-students Martin Brynskov and Martin Ludvigsen, both related to the Nomadic Play project will be visiting Carnegie Mellon. Martin Brynskov has previously visited Mark D. Gross research unit CoDeLAB , and will continue this collaboration in the coming month, and Martin Ludvigsen will visit Jodi Forlizzi from the School of Design and HCII. [more]
