Richard Shusterman visits Interactive Spaces On the 1st of June, Richard Shusterman visited Interactive Spaces to see some of our prototypes and discuss Aesthetics of Interaction. Richard Shusterman is Professor of Philosophy at Florida Atlantic University and currently holds the Dorothy F. Schmidt Eminent Scholar chair. Richard Shusterman is internationally recognized for his work on pragmatist aesthetics and Somaeshtetics. [more]

Ben Shneiderman plays Interactive Floor Pong On May 26, Ben Shneiderman, HCI veteran and professor at the University of Maryland, visited the Center for Interactive Spaces. While discussing the work carried out in the lab and seeing demos, he won a game of Pong on the iFloor. After his visit, Ben will be heading home to oversee the Creativity & Cognition 2007 conference. [more]

Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen visited Center for Interactive Spaces On March 14th, Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen - owner of LEGO - visited Center for Interactive Spaces. He was joined by Foundation manager, Morten Aagaard, Senior director, Electronics R&D, Erik Hansen, and LEGO Professor Mitch Resnick, from MIT MediaLab, USA. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the activities in the joint research project Nomadic Play. [more]

Talk: Smart Textiles On Feb. 28, 2007, Lena Berglin will give a talk and hands-on experience with smart textiles. Lena combines technology and textiles into smart conductive textiles, where sensors and technology are weaved into the textile, for instance as textile microphones, wireless data communication, and for measuring EKG, muscle activity, breathing frequency and more. Royal Visit His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary visit Center for Interactive Spaces on July 26, 2004 as part of their Århus visit. They experience the iFloor (interactive floor) prototype as well as protototypes from the iSchool and iHome projects. See the pictures in the gallery. [more]
