Welcome

InteractiveSpaces is an interdisciplinary research center bringing together architecture, engineering, and computer science with the research mission to create new concepts for future interactive spaces. The center is hosted by Aarhus University, Department of Computer Science, and the Aarhus School of Architecture. The Center is conducting a number of research and development projects operated by the Alexandra Institute.

InteractiveSpaces.net brings together companies and public researchers in a R&D activities leading to new products and services for specific domains. The research activities focus on a range of research themes that may be applicable to one or more of the application domain projects undertaken in the center. The application domains being studied include schools, libraries, museums, homes, cities, and specific workplaces.

SwingScape – a festival succes! SwingScape – a festival succes!
During the Roskilde festival, you could see and experience SwingScape – the music installation which gives you the possibility to remix your own songs using your body. The 15m x 15m, and 4 m high, installation soon became a popular event on the festival; both as a playful interactive installation bringing people together with music and as a visual meeting point for some of the 75.000 visitors. UFOscope at Aarhus Main Library UFOscope at Aarhus Main Library
UFOscope is a prototype developed within the Playing Families project. The aim of the project is to obtain knowledge about families and play and to test models and concepts for families with children, especially within play and play culture in relation to libraries. During week 26 visitors can test UFOscope at the main library in Aarhus. Afterwards the prototype will be placed in Aalborg during the weeks 30-31 and at Randers library during the weeks 32-33.
