Welcome

InteractiveSpaces is an interdisciplinary research center bringing together architecture, engineering, and computer science with the research mission to create new concepts for future interactive spaces. The center is hosted by Aarhus University, Department of Computer Science, and the Aarhus School of Architecture. The Center is conducting a number of research and development projects operated by the Alexandra Institute.

InteractiveSpaces.net brings together companies and public researchers in a R&D activities leading to new products and services for specific domains. The research activities focus on a range of research themes that may be applicable to one or more of the application domain projects undertaken in the center. The application domains being studied include schools, libraries, museums, homes, cities, and specific workplaces.

BannerBattle explained on P4 radio BannerBattle explained on P4 radio
Martin Ludvigsen was interveiwed for P4/østjylland about the BannerBattle prototype. It was installed for a couple of Superliga matches at Aarhus Stadium where AGF - the local football team - played against Esbjerg and Brøndby. The interview is a very short explanation of the BannerBattle prototype (in Danish) and a discussion about how we added an extra layer to the spectator experience and the potentials for installing BannerBattle nationwide. In the period June 7th to June 13th, Kaj Grønbæk and Marianne Graves Petersen participate in a delegation sent to Shanghai, China, by Danish Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation’s. The purpose of the delegation is to start export and exchange of knowledge on Green IT between China and Denmark. [more]

Opening of Hasle Interactive Opening of Hasle Interactive
May 25, the outdoor school and physical training facilities in Hasle Bakker, Århus N, were officially opened by the three supporting aldermen from the Municipality. Interactive Spaces and The Alexandra Institute have developed the mobile location based systems used for learning and physical training in Hasle Interactive. The learning application is based on the AudioDrama concept develop by Theatre Katapult together with Interactive Spaces. See pictures from the opening and the clip on Danish TV - DR News.
